Blue Jays – This Picture Says it All

I am extremely disappointed in the handling of Halladay's trade situation. The above picture says it all. All the publicity and negativity is taking a toll on Halladay and the 3-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners shows how he was not at his best (albeit the offense was impotent as well). How is the man going to concentrate with worries of trade talk and an uncertain future inundating him 24/7? The Jays' PR campaign of demonizing Roy with J.P. Ricciardi saying Roy wants out is totally unfair. Halladay has served the Jays well and this is what he gets?
Halladay wants to win. He was promised back in 2008 that the Jays will make it. That didn't happen. And with several underperforming players due pay increases and with a shrinking Jays payroll, the Jays are handcuffed financially well into the future because of poor management decisions. I don't blame Halladay if he chooses to leave the organization come 2010. J.P.'s unprofessional handling of the situation and his terrible word choice in front of the media circus he instigated is enough reason to escape this poorly-managed organization.
I can only pray Wells and Rios are going to be done taking their "gap year", our pitching staff makes a swift recovery, and come 2010, the Jays do make it to the post-season... (ha!) Cause the reality is right now, we are 13.5 games back (as of today) in the AL East. And it does not look like we can pull off a "2007 Colorado Rockies" comeback.
